Loretto’s Model UN trip has been on a hiatus since 2020 and is ready to make a comeback for the members of the club and their sponsor, Ms. Pasaret.

The Model UN Club has monthly meetings and discusses the problems that keep our world in trouble.

Now as accustomed before the pandemic hit, their one-week trip to New York will be taking place on March 4, 2023.

The club members will attend meetings that will last four hours, in which they will discuss topics like the role of men and women in feminist activism and climate change as a consequence of global warming.

This task will require their knowledge, preparation, and fast action.

They are expected to have awareness of what is going on and offer solutions that could help.

They will also be attending a conference alongside MUN club members of our Loretto sister schools, who they will meet on the trip.

Loretto senior Fatima Valenzuela said, “I expect to learn about the social issues relevant to our world.

I will learn how to use the voice Loretto has given me and will take the opportunity as a way of stepping into the college atmosphere.”

During this trip, students will build diplomacy skills and the ability of

compromise as well as the process of decision-making.

They will build their confidence by acquiring these skills and enjoy the experience at the same time.

Loretto junior, Maria Joaquina Fuentes said, “It’s gonna be an educational experience that will help me grow as a person but also as a citizen of the United States”.

The trip is an excellent activity to add to a student’s knowledge and can be a differentiating experience that marks a student’s career.
