2018 Leadership class of Loretto
The Leadership class at Loretto is taught by the student activities director, Ms. Martinez, and Loretto volunteer Amelie Rhodes, in which they show student council how to enhance their critical thinking, solve problems, and to create a fun environment for the young girls in the school by organizing events in order to have a productive year for Loretto Academy.
The leadership program consists of the National Honor Society (NHS) President Carolina Gamboa, Vice President Andrea Hernandez, and Secretary Sofia Cortez that conduct the annual blood drive and all NHS meetings.
Christina Urrea, student body president, Ava Moreno, student body vice president, and Anna Gonzales, secretary, organize the assemblies, such as the Halloween assembly, and Shout Week.
Regina Deandar, senior class president, and Dinorah Martell, senior class vice president, are also part of the leadership program and help with senior-related events, such as Nun Run.
Deandar said, “I myself personally love it, for if it wasn’t for this class, I would not have the opportunity to work as efficiently as we do.”
The class has affected the student council members, for they have been taught how to work together and improve the community of Loretto Academy.
Urrea said, “It has been an opportunity to put skills like compromise into action.
The class allows me to put forward my ideas and be with a team that supports them.”
The leadership program gives an opportunity for these intellectual women and the rest of the strong, young girls to create a change in which they can help each other and everyone else of the world.
I am a proud Mexican American living in the city of the 915 and an independent senior of Loretto Academy in the upcoming graduate class of 2019!
