One lucky El Paso man was the winner of a scratch-off lottery ticket, making him one million dollars richer in the new year.

El Pasoan Sergio González Salcido bought the winning ticket of $1,000,000 Golden Riches at Albertsons, located at 11320 Montwood Dr. in El Paso, Texas. 

Salcido, a frequent lottery player and winner of smaller prizes, was overwhelmed with emotion and shock after gaining knowledge of his big win. 

Salcido said, “I prayed to God to win the lottery and my prayers were answered.”

Salcido plans to pay off business debt that he gained during the Covid-19 pandemic, save and donate his earnings to a cause of his choice.
