Singer Kanye West is facing a million dollar lawsuit over unpaid wages from one of his Opera projects back in 2019.

Kanye West once said “Nike, Nike treats employees just like slaves” in his 2016 song, Facts.

However, the infamous rapper is now under fire by his employees just as Kanye himself once dissed the known-brand.

The singer is facing a one million dollar class action lawsuit in regards to his Nebuchadnezzar Opera staff, not being properly paid for their work and efforts back in 2019.

Nebuchadnezzar was an Opera show directed by Vanessa Beecroft, that featured music from Kanye West’s Sunday Service.

The plaintiffs that range from background actors to hair stylists, claim that they were not timely paid for their work or not paid at all.

According to documents of The Blast a hair assistant working on the project claimed that West “…failed to properly compensate [them] and many dozens of other persons who performed services on the production, including the background actors, performing as audience members.”

The court documents claim that the defendants “failed to fulfill employee obligations, such as reporting time pay and providing wage statements.”

The plaintiffs are seeking unpaid wages, continuing wages, damages, civil and statutory penalties and attorney’s fees and costs.

Kanye West and his team have not responded to the lawsuit and the media fire as of now, but might in the coming days.
