The week of the 9th-13th was a relaxation week for the students of Loretto Academy.

Loretto’s Leadership team planned out five days of meditation and ease.

To start the week off, students were given the opportunity to lay in bed and eat during class, plus 4th period classes chose a movie to watch at the end of the day!

On Tuesday, the girls were given 15 minutes during each class period to rest their minds from schoolwork and do something creative for themselves, such as coloring, drawing, interacting with the class over a topic other than school, or painting their nails.

Wednesday was Kahoot day and the girls played trivia questions over topics such as,  Harry Potter, Disney, sports, and One Direction.

“Kahoot is my favorite activity because it makes learning fun and competitive.” said junior, Brianna Favela.

Each class played a couple of rounds of the topic of their choice for 20 minutes.

On Thursday, during 5th period, Loretto student’s  got to relax their bodies and stretch with a yoga video provided by the teachers.

Finally on Friday, the seniors were given a half day for their first senior out to lunch, and the whole school participated in no homework Friday for a chance to have family game night.

“My favorite day during the week of loosen up Loretto was Monday because we got to wear our pajamas to school, stay in bed, and we got to watch a movie during class.” said senior, Mariana De la Rocha.

Loosen Up Loretto was a great chance for the girls to have a short break from their everyday school routines and allowed them to focus on themselves for the wellness of their mental and physical health.
