On January 26th through February 1st, Loretto Academy celebrated Catholic Schools Week and everyone who is involved with making Catholic Schools around El Paso what it is today.
Since 1974, Catholic schools across America have been celebrating Catholic education with a week dedicated to it.
With El Paso being home to three Catholic High Schools: Loretto Academy, Cathedral High School, and Father Yermo High School, these moments of celebrating Catholic education are very important.
This year’s theme for the week was “Catholic Schools: United in Faith and Community” and Loretto Academy honored this by highlighting different aspects of this on their Instagram everyday.
Monday’s theme was ‘Celebrating our Community’ and Loretto featured the hard work and leadership of students who participated in the school’s Fall Day of Service.
Tuesday’s theme was ‘Celebrating our Students’ which honored alumnae and students in their accomplishments which represent what a true Loretto Angel is.
Wednesday’s theme was ‘Celebrating the Nation’ and Loretto recognized the importance of how a Catholic school could shape and strengthen a community.
Thursday’s theme was ‘Celebrating Vocations’ which recognized the Sisters of Loretto, and their actions in helping Loretto Academy be what it is today.
Friday’s theme was ‘Celebrating Faculty, Staff, and Volunteers’ and Loretto featured volunteers and their support in building up Loretto with their support and contributions.
At the end of the week all Catholic schools were invited to St. Patrick’s Cathedral for a special mass to celebrate Catholic Schools Week with Bishop Mark Seitz.
Loretto Academy completed another Catholic Schools Week spreading Catholic education and love for the Catholic school community,
