The Loretto Academy swim team dove headfirst into their 2022-2023 season, which started with practice on Sep. 6 and their first meet on Oct. 21.

The Angels have had success in their first swimming meets, placing fourth in the Loretto, Cathedral, and EPISD invitationals.

This year, the swim team has a larger team consisting of two freshmen, six sophomores, three juniors, and three seniors.

In total, 14 girls are on Loretto’s swimming team.

The swimmers have big expectations this season with hopes of going to a state meet.

Last year, Loretto’s swim team won TAPPS Central Region Division I and placed fifth at a state meet in San Antonio, Texas.

Freshman Aubrey Reha said, “It’s been a terrific experience being apart of such a wonderful team.

The girls on this team are like sisters and it has been amazing being part of their family.”

Loretto’s swim season will end in February, leaving the swimmers ample time to continue their success.

There is no doubt that Loretto’s swimmers will continue to work hard to bring a trophy to Loretto Academy.
