Healthy summer snacks

School is out and bored snack cravings are in. 

From Christmas to Valentine’s Day to St.Patrick’s Day, it is finally time to share summer recipes. 

Summer snacks don’t need to be long or expensive. 

These healthy summer recipes will be refreshing and fulfilling all summer long. 

 

Chunky Monkey Banana Bites:

These healthy bites are perfect for wanting to be healthy but are craving something sweet. 

 

Ingredients: 

  • 3 sliced bananas 
  • 1 package of chocolate chips (chocolate of your choice) 
  • ¼ cup of peanut butter or almond butter

 

Instructions: 

  1. Cut the banana into slices and set aside half of the slices and arrange the other half on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Microwave peanut butter on low/medium for 30 seconds to 1 minute, stirring in between, until smooth and easily spreadable.
  3. Spread the peanut butter on one of the banana slices and place the other half on top.
  4. Freeze for two hours 
  5. Grab the chocolate of your choice and melt it in a microwave on low/medium heat for 30 seconds until the chocolate is melted. 
  6. Remove two to three bites from the freezer.
  7. Dip them in the melted chocolate one at a time, then “roll” them in chocolate with two forks to cover all sides.
  8. Place on parchment paper and put back in the freezer.
  9. Once they are frozen (but not too frozen) take them out and enjoy. 

 

These bites are easy to make and are easy to snack on all summer long.

Easy fruit smoothie:

This smoothie is one of the best and easiest refreshments that anyone can make. 

 

Ingredients: 

  • ½ cup of Strawberries 
  • ½ cup of kiwi 
  • ½ cup of water 
  • 2 cups of ice

 

Instructions: 

  1. Grab all the ingredients and pour them all into a blender. 
  2. Blend until smooth but not thick 
  3. Slice a kiwi and strawberry and add them to your cup rim. 
  4. Allow the natural sugars of the fruits to combine. If the smoothie is not sweet enough, add a little bit of cane sugar. 
  5. And enjoy! 

This super easy smoothie can also be used with other fruit combinations, such as mango and pineapple, watermelon and lemon, and, blueberry and lemon.

Can’t ever go wrong with a nice fruit refreshment.

No-bake vanilla almond bites:

These bites are a great protein source and work as a delicious fast breakfast. 

Ingredients: 

  • 2 cups of oats 
  • ½  cup of almond butter
  • ½  cup of honey 
  • ½ cup of almond 
  • ½ tsp of vanilla extract

Instructions: 

  1. Grab a bowl and pour in the oats, almond butter, and honey. Mix
  2. Add your almonds into the mix and fold gently.
  3. Add vanilla extract for that extra sweet taste. 
  4. Place the bowl into the fridge and let it sit for 30 minutes. 
  5. Once it’s not sticky take it out and roll it into little bite-size balls. 
  6. Enjoy!

These almond bites are just the treat to make you feel happy.
