Throughout the years, Loretto has seen different generations of girls sharing the same traditions.

One of the most prominent traditions at Loretto Academy is Ring Rose.

Ring Rose is a tradition in which juniors and seniors participate.

At this ceremony, the seniors hand the juniors their class ring, which signifies their celebration of approaching senior year.

In turn, the juniors hand the seniors a yellow rose which signifies the end of their time at Loretto.

Senior Carolina Garcia said, “The handing of the roses to the seniors means goodbye in a way and gives them good luck for whatever they decide to do in their lives, knowing that they will always have a place at Loretto.

Giving the rings to the juniors means that we as seniors are giving them the responsibility they now have as the next senior class of Loretto.”

This event ties bonds between the two classes and reminds students that the Loretto sisterhood will remain forever.

Senior Luisa Aguilar said, “ The biggest difference from last year’s Ring Rose to this year’s is, in my opinion, the excitement and preparation towards it.

Everyone is much more united this year and is actively planning, not just Ring Rose, but other important and memorable events.”

This year, Ring Rose will be celebrated on April 22nd with plenty of other traditions to follow.

The next event that follows Ring Rose is prom.

On prom night, upperclassmen will get to dress up and ‘party like it’s 1999.’

Junior Miranda Villeda said, “For this year, we expect a fun and memorable prom experience.

We hope the music, the decorations, and the theme all collaborate together to make it a night to remember.

This year’s theme is starry night.

Prom will have stars hanging from the ceiling and dim lighting with a lot of sparkles.”

Being able to celebrate prom is a gift that every student is grateful for, especially since the class of 2020 and 2021 missed out on prom due to the pandemic.

As the end of the year approaches, seniors find themselves anticipating their graduation.

Graduation is one of the biggest moments in life that symbolizes a teen becoming an adult.

Although it is the end of their time at Loretto, it will become the start of new beginnings for all of them.

Seniors are full of excitement and ready for their upcoming plans for the future.

In hopes to share the power of one in making a difference in the world, these young women will cherish their memories of sisterhood along their journey.
