Award shows update

Award shows are a big part of our community and have been around since the 1920s, still leaving an impact on the world today.

Somehow, people tend to be intrigued by which movie or celebrity could win every year.

However, there can be lots of complications due to COVID.

The Grammy Awards

This year the Grammys were postponed due to the rise of the Omicron variant.

The Grammy Awards have been around since 1959.

As of recently, the Grammys have officially set up a date and venue for 2022.

The award show was moved to Las Vegas on April 3, 2022.

The 64th annual Grammy Awards will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

This would make the Grammy’s first time being anywhere else other than L.A or New York since 1973.

As far as nominations go, Justin Bieber, Doja Cat, and H.E.R. are tied for the second-most nominations with eight apiece.

At only 18 years old, Olivia Rodrigo came in close with seven Grammy nominations.

So be patient and excited for the Grammys 2022, it will come sooner than expected.

 The Golden Globes

The  79th Golden Globes took place on January 9, 2022, at the Beverly Hilton.

This year’s award ceremony had no host and no celebrity guests, just solely live-blogging coverage of the event.

Unfortunately, this year’s show was a huge flop and caused some controversy amongst the community.

Even if the award show didn’t have a setback due to the pandemic, it still would’ve turned into a disappointment.

Many collaborators have come out and boycotted the show saying there is a lack of diversity.

This makes people question if award shows like this are even still relevant.

Despite all this negativity, there are still moments when the Golden Globes remain meaningful.

So far, there is not much said about the Oscars 2022

The 94th Academy Awards will begin at 5 p.m. on March 27.

This year the Oscars will be held at the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center.

The award show will be directed by Glenn Weiss for the seventh consecutive year.

It is still unknown whether performances will be live or pre-recorded.

The nominations will be announced on February 8, 2022.

Unfortunately, that is all to be said for now.

These monumental films, musicians, and artists have shown dedication and gained respect throughout the 21st century.

These awards are given to advocate hard work and perseverance.

This is just the start of 2022, and more influences are yet to come.
