A Dancing Christmas

On December 9, Ms. Cortez held a Christmas orchesis performance in the Loretto gym.

Masks were required for the entirety of the show and the seats were spread six feet apart.

Ms. Cortez said it had been a year and a half since their last performance; two years since their last Christmas performance.

There were seven orchesis club members, one honor dance member, and aerobic class members, who performed a total of 12 dances, three singing acts.

The introductory dance was Halloween-themed and it was performed by all the orchesis members.

The second dance, called Human, was performed by senior honor student Paola Cardenas.

Singer sisters, Ann Johnny and Angela Johnny, gave a sneak peek for the December 10, choir concert.

The Johnny sisters, along with the Tolentino sisters Faith and Hope, sang That’s Christmas To Me.

After this act, officers Carolina Benitez and Caitlin Mijares performed Jingle Bell Rock, which they choreographed themselves.

Their performance was synchronized and smooth.

Another singing act was after and it was performed by senior Danielle Leydon.

The finale was Silent Night, performed by all of the orchesis members.

The night ended with a bow from all of the dancers and a good night to the audience.

Christmas choir night

On December 10, Mr. Hernandez organized a choir concert at 6 pm, in the little theater at Loretto.

The choir prepares for their performance with Ann Johnny as their conductor. The choir practiced for about an hour before their concert began.

The night started with an introduction from Mr. Hernandez, who dressed up as Santa Claus.

The first performance was a solo act by senior Ann Johnny who sang O Holy Night.

After her performance, the choir sang two Spanish Christmas carols: A La Puerta Del Cielo and A La Nanita Nana.

Next, the choir sang Beautiful December.

This was a self-directed project, with a student conductor and pianist.

There were two solo performances: one sang Last Christmas I Gave You My Heart and the other sang All I Want For Christmas Is You.

The choir then sang Carol of the Bells.

The last song the choir sang together was All On a Silent Night.

Faith Tolentino ended the performance with a solo singing Where Are You Christmas.

Mr. Hernandez wished the audience a Merry Christmas and thanked everyone for coming.
