Christmas has finally arrived along with its holiday drinks and treats.
According to a YouGov survey out of 1,000 Americans, 34% chose hot chocolate as their top holiday beverage.
One of the most popular Christmas movies is How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Combine the best of both worlds and create a Grinch themed hot chocolate.
Grinch hot chocolate:
This recipe will make you want to steal your neighbors Christmas tree and claim it as your own.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup half and half
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 5 drops of green food coloring
- Lime juice
- Red and green sparkle sprinkles
- Whipped cream
- Maraschino cherries
Directions:
- Combine milk, half-and-half, cocoa powder, and vanilla in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Whisk every 10 minutes or so, until the cocoa powder has dissolved.
- Dip the rim of a glass or mug in lime juice, then top with red sprinkles
- When the hot chocolate is finished, whisk in the green food coloring.
- Fill a glass halfway with hot chocolate and top with whipped cream, sprinkles, and a cherry.
Then, enjoy this not-so-grinchy treat.

Peppermint mocha:
Time to spice things up with a peppermint mocha.
This peppermint mocha will make even your Scrooge Uncle lighten up, and freshen up his breath.

To help your uncle you will need:
- 3 tbsp mint syrup
- 1/4 cup 60% cacao chocolate chips
- 1/2 tsp chocolate
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder, unsweetened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
- 1/4 cup chocolate milk
- 3/4 cup double cream
- 1 1/4 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup water
- 2/3 cup strong coffee
Directions:
- First make warm chocolate milk with cocoa powder, heavy cream, whole milk, and chocolate chips.
- Whisk the cocoa powder, milk, and cream.
- Whisk the chocolate chips until they’re melted.
- Blend your ingredients in a blender.
- Second make the peppermint syrup with water, granulated sugar, and peppermint extract
- In a pan, dissolve the sugar in water on medium high heat.
- Remove from the stove and add peppermint extract.
- Third, gather ingredients to prepare the mocha.
- The ingredients needed will be: whole milk, espresso, chocolate milk, and peppermint syrup.
- The final step is to pour three tbsp of syrup and 1/4 cup of chocolate milk into the mug.
- Mix in 2/3 cup of coffee and 2/3 cup of steamed milk.
- Add any toppings of choice.
- Enjoy!
