This year has been filled with struggles and challenges to overcome, with the 61st annual ceremony of Grammys approaching, new problems surrounding gender equality and race are underfoot. 

With the Black Lives movement and the pandemic, it seems that the ceremony of Grammys is struggling.

It is a turning point for the Grammys, because they have to uphold all of their sponsors as well as their nominness while sustaining the image that they promote of themselves. 

Many people who attended the Grammys in the past, have expressed their thoughts on the ceremony’s  nominations as well as the Grammys’ ability to nominate artists. 

The reasons that Grammys is considered a fraud which is displayed as part of being unfair, rigging the nominations, but mostly important the treatment of the musicians and artists.  

Singer Ariana Grande addressed the ceremony and said, “I’ve kept my mouth shut but now you’re lying about me,” which was posted on Twitter in addition to responding to the Associated Press interview at the time.

Grande also talked about the Grammys’ treatment of her during an interview with Ken Ehrlich, who is the longtime producer of the Grammys.

Grande later explained her dissatisfaction with how women and other nominees are being mocked by their gender or color of skin in the awards ceremony. 

Now, a division amongst our society over the years, it seems to have diminished a bit during this critical time of last year.

Alicia Keys hosted the Grammys of 2019 and she returned for the 2020 Grammy Awards Ceremony with an opening monologue honoring Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna; however this year’s host will be Trevor Noah.

This traditional event of honoring actors, actresses, and producers as well as directors, over the years the ceremony has been titled as a ploy, for those who use money or power to get themselves a higher authority in the business of making movies. 

Though these changes promote the Grammys as an event that gets the nominees wrong, it also displays the tradition that was formed in America to award people in the music industry for their hard work and efforts. 

Though a bunch of changes have happened this year, there is hope that they will be able to overcome these struggles and get back on their feet after the celebration of the 63rd annual ceremony and clear the air about their credibility.
