Senior year is said to be unforgettable and unique, however no one talks about the behind the scenes.

College applications play an enormous role when it comes to graduation, and leaving high school behind.

Stress and pressure were common factors amongst seniors last semester.

The class of 2021 was not only working endlessly on homework, but also on everlasting college essays and finishing up resumes.

Four months away from graduation, and finally most of the seniors are done with college applications and are now receiving acceptance letters.

Senior Diana Murillo said, “College application season finally being over brings great relief to me- it was a stressful time to complete so many essays and distinct applications, while watching out for due dates.”

Despite the pressure of due dates, Murillo learned to dedicate time for herself as long as turning everything on time for college.

Every college application is meaningful, the seniors’ next chapter is something to look forward to.

Suleth Villeda said, “Next year at college, I am looking to expand my knowledge on my major and to enroll in many classes or experiences that will initiate a variety of interests”.

Excitement is a feeling some seniors are experiencing at the time, however, leaving Loretto is not an easy step.

Mariasofia Mancilla said, “I am sad that I will no longer be able to see my friends as often as I’ve done it in all my high school years- I am mad that I didn’t get to live my whole high school experience but I know that this pandemic challenged us and helped us in a way.”

Finishing college applications is a sign that the Class of 2021’s high school chapter is coming to an end.

“I am proud of my class who have  come this close to graduating and I thank God because he gave me the opportunity to attend Loretto and it is now one the biggest gifts I’ve received” said Mancilla.

Although college is something most people undergo, the class of 2021 will never forget the stumbles of stress in a pandemic and still dealing with the uncertainty of their future.
