Freshman year is the high school year that requires meeting new people, and experiencing new things.

This year, due to the pandemic, the Class of 2024 is experiencing a different freshmen year than expected.

Some of the freshmen are getting used to the struggle of online learning in their first year of high school.

Loretto Academy freshmen, Natalia Waissman is one of the many freshmen who are having trouble keeping up with school and grades.

Waissman said, “It’s a lot of school work and note taking as well as having the stress of being home all day”.

Class of 2024 is not only missing out on the face to face Loretto sisterhood experience, but also on the tradition that comes with being a freshman.

Lilian Gutierrez, was very excited to experience her first year of high school.

Gutierrez said,  “I was looking forward to becoming a freshman and having my big sister and little sister events, homecoming and even more.”

However, being online hasn’t affected their charisma and optimism on looking forward to their first year.

Maria Joaquina Fuentes said, “I met some of my classmates, and they are all super nice and super friendly”.

Fuentes is overjoyed to meet new classmates as well.

It’s been hard for some freshmen to adjust to their new normal, especially starting their high school chapter unexpectedly.

However, they try  to get the best of their freshmen year, as they will grow as a sisterhood.
