Thus far, 2020 has been a wild ride, to say the least.

Since spring break began, people have been encouraged to participate in social distancing and stay in their homes more than usual.

On April 1, the city announced that people should not leave their homes unless it was for an essential reason.

Director of Digital Content for ABC-7, Jim Parker, said, “All individuals living within the city of El Paso are directed to stay at home or at their place of residence unless they are performing essential duties, working in an essential business, government, etc.

“Public and private gatherings of any number of people are prohibited.”

Classes in the Loretto building have been canceled for the rest of the 2019-2020 school year.

So far, the Ring Rose ceremony, prom, and the alumna luncheon have been canceled.

Graduation has also been postponed to either June 21 or July 26, depending on the circumstances.

As tensions rise, students look to maintaining their grades and coping with missing out on these events.
