President’s Day is a day of remembrance of the past United States presidents; however, at Loretto the president of our student body, Rebecca Terrazas, continues to embody the true character of a leader.

Taking on the role of student body president is not an easy task; Terrazas is swamped with endless duties and activities she must tackle.

This year Loretto Academy celebrated President’s Day on February 17, 2020 by acknowledging the hard work and dedication Terrazas has as student body president.

Terrazas said, “At first when I was elected I was scared because I didn’t know if I was going to be a good leader.

“The role as president would really challenge my creativity and ability to work with others.”

Her doubts proved to be wrong with the countless assemblies and student activities Terrazas puts on for Loretto Academy.

Terrazas said, “My responsibilities include creating events for the entire student body to enjoy such as the Christmas assembly and spirit week. I love to create assemblies!”

Not only does Terrazas exceed expectations through her work on assemblies and events, but also shows her passion through the people she works with.

Terrazas said, “The best part of being president is interacting with different groups to make something great, but it’s also the hardest part to make everything work and accessible to everyone.”

She continues her leadership by acting as a figure to look up to by her fellow peers.

Terrazas said, “I also have to be the role model for the other students.”

While commemorating the U.S. presidents, let the work and drive of Loretto Academy’s student body president not go unnoticed.
