Crash during NASCAR race

   On February 16, 2020 The Daytona 500 was delayed due to the weather and when the race was almost done one of the race cars crashed. 

  The Daytona 500 is a 500-mile NASCAR race that is held annually in Daytona Beach, Florida. 

    During the race, NASCAR driver Ryan Newman led in the final lap when his car crashed. 

   He was rushed tot the hospital. 

  Fortunately,   Newman’s injuries were not fatal, leading him to be released from the hospital two days after the crash. 

    Newman said that he is ready to go back out onto the track, and start to race again. 

    Even after this tragedy happened they had to let the race continue which led to Denny Hamlin becoming the fourth driver in Daytona history to win a race back-to-back. 

    Ryan Blaney, racer for the Ford Monster Energy manufacturer team came in second in the race. 

 Chris Buescher, he is number 17, in the same team came into third. 

   The race was delayed due to the weather, they consider it to be a good race after all.
