Vaping has become a major issue among young adults; the dangers of smoking e-cigarettes have risen even causing 47 deaths.

Teens have gone through countless of devices such as Juul, Njoy, and more;

In the borderland teens have began to purchase Puff Bars.

Puff Bars e-cigarettes are disposable pod devices; Containing 20 mg of nicotine in four different flavors or 50 mg of nicotine

They come in 20 different flavor such as sour apple, menthol, O.M.G (Orange, Mango, Guava), mango and lemonade.

A Puff Bar is small enough to fit in a pocket and much like a Juul resembles a USB flash drive and heats up a cartridge containing e-liquid to create a vapor according to truthinitiative.org.

These devices became a easy alternative since they are sold in convenient stores and vape shops.

They were uncomplicated to obtain after the change in legislation.

“The Texas Legislature increased the legal age from 18 to 21 for the sale, distribution, possession, purchase, consumption or receipt of cigarettes, e-cigarettes or tobacco products. This legislation was effective Sept. 1, 2019. See Senate Bill 21” according to comptroller.texas.gov.

These new devices were being sold on a daily basis to teens at a high quantity.

But it wasn’t long till these were banned because due to their high demand and high amount of nicotine Puff bars where banned from convenient stores and later vape shops making it impossible to obtain.

Vaping has become a serious issue that needs to be controlled among young adults.

There have been three deaths and over 150 cases of vaping related lung illness.

Society should help educate young adults on the dangers of vaping to prevent and future deaths.
