The Loretto Academy Swim Team started their practices on September 3, 2019, welcoming not only newcomers to the team but also a new assistant coach, Sara Morales.

Sara Morales graduated from El Dorado in 2017, and enjoys being active and watching the Cowboy football games.

Sara Morales has coached for two years in two different club teams, which are El Paso Aqua Posse and Radford Aquatic Swim Team.

Morales said, “My first impression was that it was going to be a lot tougher getting the girls to be comfortable and open up around me but it did not happen that way, and I found out fairly soon that they’re just like club swimmers, just as silly, fun, and hardworking.”

Senior Daniela Wong, captain of the Loretto swim team, said, “I believe she is a great fit for the position of assistant coach.

“She is a fun person to be around and she brings joy to the team, she strengthens the team, but she is very strict which helps us work towards our goals.”

She is welcomed by the Loretto community with open arms, and the Loretto swim team looks forward to an awesome season with her.
