Sophomore Lauren Barajas was selected to attend the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Seminar on the weekend of May 16 to 19.

The seminar is in charge of hosting a minimum of 60 leaders focused on business, government and education.

In the seminar they will be able to discuss several aspects of our world and the challenges future leaders will face.

After being nominated, Lauren had to write an essay about the importance of leadership and she was interviewed by Sr. Buffy.

Lauren said, “I was really nervous during the interview but it all worked out in the end and it was announced that I had been chosen.

I’m excited and I feel really honored that I was selected.

I can’t wait to meet new people and learn more about leadership and what I can do for Loretto as far as leadership goes.”

Congratulations Lauren!
