This year, the Earth Day Festival was held on May 1st in the gym from 1:15 to 3:15.

The Green Team joined with Mrs. Cobb’s Environmental Systems class to make the festival come to life.

President of the Green Team, Elizabeth Hernandez said, “The purpose of the Earth Fest was to raise money for a nonprofit organization that protects wildlife and to inform students on different subject areas such as animal cruelty, extinct species, and the importance of bees”

Both organizations worked hard for weeks leading up to the event in order to ensure it was a success.

Amy Rodriguez, student in the environmental systems class, said, “The booths were informative, interactive and food booths.

Some booths were raising awareness for animals that were going extinct and about ways to help save the earth through recycling.

The festival was a huge success there were lots of students from the high school, middle school and some elementary students who checked out the robotics booth!”

We can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year’s Earth Fest!
